A'Ja Lyons

A’Ja Lyons is a writer and historian born in Texas but naturalized in Iowa. She is a graduate student in Oklahoma State University’s English PhD program focusing on Creative Nonfiction. She is the founder of Griot Gang, a summer creative writing workshop for Black graduate English students. A’Ja is the proud mother of a highly athletically gifted and animal-loving child. When not writing, A’Ja can be found at local theater productions, art shows, or hiking.
